Child & Youth Health Indicator Program

The Coalition launched the Indicator Program in 2004: “To identify existing indicators and develop new indicators that will be used to monitor and evaluate the health of, and the health services provided to, infants, children, youth and their families. The aim is to improve services and, thereby, the health and wellbeing of infants, children, youth and their families”.

National Paediatric Surgical Wait Times Strategy

In November 2005, Dr. Brian Postl, Federal Adviser on Wait Times to the Prime Minister, approached the Canadian Child & Youth Health Coalition (CCYHC) to lead an initiative to develop recommendations for a national paediatric surgical wait times strategy.  In February 2006, the Coalition, in collaboration with the Paediatric Surgical Chiefs of Canada, hosted the National Workshop on Paediatric Surgical Wait Times to develop these recommendations.

Maternal, Infant, Child & Youth Research Network (MICYRN)

Healthy children and youth through high quality collaborative clinical research.

The Maternal, Infant, Maternal, Infant, Child & Youth Research Network is the second critically important CCYHC initiative now gaining national momentum. Many problems that face our children and youth require solutions and knowledge that can only be gained through large, multi-centre studies performed in a trans-disciplinary context. Our objective is to create a national research network to facilitate high-quality clinical research.
